Fly Fishing Reels Archives

Fly Fishing - an Introduction

Over the last 2000 years humans have employed numerous methods of archery, fishing and hunting in order to find food. Over that time, fly fishing has become seen by many anglers as the essential method of fishing requiring skill, patience and stealth. Indeed trout fishing is by far the most rewarding fishing whether boat fishing or bank fishing.

When compared to other forms of fishing and the fishing equipment required at the bank, fly fishing stands out above the rest due to the limited fishing equipment that is needed; allowing greater stretches of a river or lake to be explored in a session. By employing what is essentially a fishing lure presented in such a way as to convince the fish it is a living creature worth devouring encompasses all that relates to the history of archery, fishing and hunting.

Which Rod?

There are several things that you need to think about when choosing the right type

of fly fishing. Every reel and fly fishing rod has a certain function and knowing the function is critical to its success.

One of the first things that you need to consider is comfort. Is the rod that you're

using comfortable for you to hold? If you're shorter than about 5'5" you won't

want to use a rod that is seven feet. Choose a fly fishing rod length that is easy for you to hold and cast for a few hours at a time.

Most of the fly fishing rods on the market today are designed to allow you to feel when a fish takes the bait. The shaft of the fly fishing rod is called a "blank" and when the rod is first manufactured the blank is made from fiberglass, graphite, or other materials. Each

of these blanks has an action that is either: light, medium, medium/heavy, or

heavy. The upper portion will also have an action that is either: extra light, light,

or regular. Both ends of the blank are assembled and the final result is a fishing rod, complete with a handle and guide. No matter what type of rod that you're using, the "action" of the rod will refer to the "blank". The action of the rod will have a great

deal to do with the type of fishing that you're doing.

Now go to your local tackle shop and ask to try out a range of rods in order to decide which best suits yourself. This will be an individual thing and the only way is to try the rods bearing in mind .

Which Reel?

Reels – There are three main types of reels that you can choose from when it

comes to fly fishing: (1) baitcasting reels, (2) spinning reels, and (3) spincast reels. The reel that you choose will depend your own personal preferences.

Baitcasting reels: Baitcasting reels have better accuracy and control of the lure

than other reels. They are better equipped to handle lines that are ten or more

pounds in weight. The one thing to be aware of when using a baitcasting reel is

that they often have the tendency to snarl or fight back when the spool starts to

spin faster than the line that is being played out. This is particularly true if you are

casting into the wind.

]]>

To prevent these backlashes, baitcasting reels have a magnetic braking feature but

you'll want to count more on the control of the spool tension, which is a knob that

is usually located right beside the handles. You'll need to set the spool tension

knob for each lure by holding the rod straight and disengaging the spool. Loosen

the tension just until the lure begins to drop down and then tighten the spool just a

bit.

When you're casting the reel you'll disengage the spool and then hold it tight with

your thumb. When you want the lure to move forward you'll simply loosen up on

the pressure. After some practice you'll learn to control the speed of the spool so

that you have better accuracy.

Spinning reels: Spinning reels are reels that have a spool that is stationary. The

line is spun onto the spool as a device called a "bail" rotates around it. Spinning

reels can be used for any size of line but more experienced fly fishers will use it

for lightweight lures with a weight less than ten pounds. Spinning reels tend to

perform a little better than baitcasting reels when you're casting into the wind.

One disadvantage of using a spinning reel is that there is the inevitable twisting of

the line which will create tangles and knots. When your line becomes twisted the

best thing that you can do is replace the line with a new one. One way that you can prevent some of these tangles from occurring is by putting the spool into a glass of

water for about 24 hours before you head out to go fishing, giving it a chance to

soak.

To cast the spinning reel, hold the handle of the rod with one hand, making sure

that the spinning reel is on the bottom side with your middle finger placed in front

of the "foot" of the reel. Slowly open up the bail and pull the line behind the first

knuckle of your index finger. Release the line by pulling your index finger into a

straight position. You can control how far you cast the line by letting the line

move along your index finger as close to the spool as possible as the line unwinds.

When you want to stop the line you simply push your finger against the lip of the

spool.

Spincast reels: Spincast reels are also known as "push button" reels. They are

closed-face and are very easy to use. They are almost impossible to tangle and can

be cast in smooth, long arcs without twisting. The main portion of the spool is

encased in a covering and it remains in one place while a pick-up pin spins around

the spool. When buying a spincast reel make sure that you don't buy the most

inexpensive one since you want to pay for good quality. Many beginner fly fishers

do well with a spincast reel.

To cast the spincast reel all you need to do is depress the push button and hold it

down. You'll release the button when you want your lure to move in a forward

position. Most spincast reels are able to be used with any weight lure or line size.

Which Line?

Most of the lines that you'll use for fly fishing will be made of nylon

monofilament. However, other lines are becoming just as popular such as lines

that are (1) braided, (2) co-filament, or (3) fused. No matter what type of line you

buy make sure that it's a "premium" line. Premium lines are more durable and

even than cheaper lines. You'll want to match the fishing line that you buy to the

following criteria and conditions:

· Strength: Strength is measured in the pounds of force that is needed to

break the line. You'll find that most lines will break at higher weights than

they are sold at.

· Resistance to Abrasion: When you're fishing in areas where there are a lot

of brush or rocks you'll want to use a line that won't break easily when it is

constantly rubbed.

· Line Diameter: The diameter of the line will affect the way the line is cast

as well as how deep your lure will run. Diameter also has an affect on the

visibility and stretching of the line. The thinner a line is the harder it will be

for the bass to see it. Thinner lines will also give some bait, such as grubs, a

more realistic flowing action. The one good thing about lines with a thicker

diameter is that they are better able to withstand abrasion.

· Stretch Lines: Stretch lines won't break as easily when they are being

pulled by a fish. They are beneficial in letting you detect strikes as well as

help you in setting hooks.

· Line Stiffness: The stiffness of the line is related to its stretch. The stiffer

the line is the harder it will be to cast. The advantage to having a stiff line is

that is more sensitive than flexible lines.

· Line visibility: In clear water it's important that your line is as invisible to

the fish as possible. However, you'll want to have a line that is highly visible when your fishing lures are on a subtle strike, such as worms, grubs,

and jigs. This is so that you can easily detect any movement on the line that

may indicate a fish is biting.

Holding your Rod Effectively

It’s important that you learn to hold your rod effectively under any fishing

conditions. You want to make sure that you maintain good control at all times

without gripping too hard. You can adjust the power of your hold when you’re in

the middle of a cast. This will allow you to minimize the vibrations of each

movement. With just a bit of practice you’ll be able to increase the tightness at the

same as you learn to relax your grip.

Which Bait?

Following is a list of some best bait choices as recommended by the experts:

? Grubs: Grubs are small lures that are usually used to catch larger fish.

Grubs are great for use in highland reservoirs where there is little cover for

the fish. The grub is much like a bare jig head that has a soft plastic body to

attach to the hook. You’ll want to use them most often in clear water

conditions.

How to Catch a Fish

How to Catch a Fish

Fishing can be both an enjoyable way to spend a day with nature, and a good source of food. No fish is as satisfying as the ones you catch yourself. But as with all sports safety is a concern, so follow local boating regulations, and fish and games laws, as well as some common sense rules of conduct.

Watch for others if you are casting a line; Don't fish where a lot of people are already fishing. Keep sharp hooks in a safe place when not using them. Carry your trash with you and do not littler the landscape.

The best time to fish is just before dawn and just after dusk, when the fish are feeding. During a full moon and just before a storm can also be a good time for fishing.

If you fish in a river or lake, go to a shallow place near the bank. Although if the weather is warm the fish will stay in deeper or shaded areas where the water is cooler.

The more you know about the fish, the better chance you will have catching them. Before you go find out what kind of fish are in the water, what they feed on, where they feed, and how deep they swim.

Different fish like different types of bait so learn the best bait for the fish you want to catch. Ask someone who knows about fish. Popular baits include worms, insects, bugs, minnows, crickets, grasshoppers, chicken, cheese, hamburger, and hot dogs. You can also use artificial look alike bait.

There are different ways to fish. Depending on how much experience you have and the type of fish you are trying to catch. Still fishing is the most simple. It requires you to stand or sit with a rod in your hand with the line under the water waiting for a fish to bite. Other types of fishing are spin casting, bait casting, and fly fishing.

Your chosen method will determine the equipment you will need. At it's most simple, fishing requires only a line and a hook, or just a net. But you should come better prepared. Bring at least a cane pole, a line, a set of hooks, and a lead sinker. For more advanced fishing use a telescoping rod, a spinning reel, and strong fish lines, with lures, weights, and nets. Be sure to get your fishing license.

The best fishing advise will come from people who come from the area you plan to fish. Ask the bait shop employees, or the fellow fishing men and women what you can expect from the fish in the area. You will be able to get reliable information on bait, and techniques. Don't be afraid to ask. Others are usually glad to help out a fellow fisherman.

Here's more about the fishing reels manufactured by Shimano:

These fishing reels are of extremely durable design and manufacture specifically for big game fishing. Blue-water anglers catch big types of fish like marlin, tuna, swordfish, salmon, or halibut. These reels can handle the numerous heavy bouts that come with offshore sportfishing.

Their quality reels also allow casting at a longer distances without exerting as much effort.

This can be attributed to the special line management and oscillation systems. You do not need to worry about tired arms and casting your line only a few feet in front of you. This will allow you to cover larger areas when fishing.

You also do not need to worry about line tangles or backlash because of the efficient line management system. The body is made up of aluminum while the side-plate and rotor are made of graphite. These materials make this fishing reel last for a long time even after using it for many seasons.

The price of these reels can range from to 0 depending on the type of reel.

How To Buy The Best Fishing Reels

One technique that every fisherman uses to catch the fish is the technique of good casting. Good casting means you are fast in casting and retrieving the fishing lure in the water. Fishermen continually cast and retrieve the fishing lure in the water to catch the fish attention and make them bite the hook. You need to be fast when it comes to this technique. Your speed depends on the type fishing reels you have. There are several of fishing reels that you can choose from and available for you in the market. Each of those has their own unique features that include the speed.

For best fishing reels, it should be convenient, comfortable and user-friendly. They need to be attached to the fishing rod. They need to be installed correctly for them to function well. If you don't have any idea how to install a fishing reel to fishing rod, you could go to the nearest fishing store in your place and ask for assistance. Your other option which is easier is to watch videos in the internet on how to install or assemble fishing rod sets.

The comfort in fishing relies on the fishing reels you have. Try to check the internet for the best fishing reels that will sooth your taste. Be keen in choosing the right fishing reels. Try to canvas different fishing stores and sites. You could also check for the price. Try to do some price comparison. By this, you will be able to know which of the stores offers the cheapest price. You could also check for the site that offers them in sale price.

Here are some factors that you need to consider before you buy or order these. If you are buying on a retail store, ask if they have promo to offer you. Try to bargain if you can with the price. But if you are ordering them online, there are important information that you needed to read and understand before buying them. Read the terms and conditions so you will know the policy of ordering the items. You could also check the return policy if they have.

This information will help you find out if you're getting ripped-off or not. So make sure that take time to read them before filling out any form in that site. It's always better that you know something so you could dispute of ever there is a problem.

Daiwa Electric Fishing Reels - Catch the Big One

Daiwa's first spinning reel was founded in 1955 in Japan. The company is now one of the largest tackle companies in the world. The company's emphasis has been on quality since day one. These Daiwa electric fishing reels are designed to last a lifetime. This company is amongst the top few companies that are known for making top of the line reels.

Daiwa is now able to offer a long list of fishing reels that anyone, especially an angler, would like to experience. Daiwa fishing reels are designed for many different areas of expertise. It could be bait casting, saltwater or fly-fishing, either way the fisherman is going to get the most out of their experience.

Daiwa electric reels are good for deep sea fishing and are also precision pieces of equipment. Because of its design it has become an effective reel for most anglers fishing needs. Usually when you are deep sea fishing you will have a situation where at some point in time you will have a lot of weight on the end of the line. You could be bottom fishing, where you expect to have to pull a lot of weight a long distance, or even smallish weights can also exhaust your hands. Try pulling a 20-pound fish up through 900 feet of water with a manual reel and see won't you have a different appreciation for an electric reel.

In addition, electric reels are fantastic for anglers with disabilities. These reels help those who have difficulty gripping and cranking a standard reel. They are designed for adaptive fishing and they tend to weigh less than those designed for deep sea fishing. They also make it easier for anyone to cast them. This will also make it easier to reel it all the way in.

Daiwa has positioned itself to be able to meet your needs. The only choice you really need to make today is when are you going to make this investment.

Field & Stream tests out fly reels with a motorcycle. Trout swim at a max speed of 9 mph. The motorcycle takes line at 10 mph for a distance of 50 yards to test the drag's start up and overall smoothness. The line is then timed during the retrieve. Reels are broken down and examined afterwards to check for problems.

The Top 10 Spider-Man Villains

10. Vulture

Adrian Toomes was born in Staten Island, New York. He is a former electronics engineer who was once the business partner of a man named Gregory Bestman; Bestman handled the finances whilst Toomes handled the inventions. One day, after creating a flight harness, Toomes eagerly rushed into Bestman's office to share the happy news. However, Bestman was not there, and Toomes discovered that Bestman had secretly been embezzling funds and that Toomes had no legal recourse. Enraged, Toomes wrecked the business, discovering that the harness also granted him superhuman strength. He then decided to turn to crime professionally as the Vulture. His wings are as sharp as swords and can be used as projectile weapons. They will replenish themselves so he can maintain flying abilities.

The Vulture employs a special harness of his own design that allows him to fly; his flight is directed by a pair of wings worn on his arms. The harness also endows him with enhanced strength and (according to some sources) increases his lifespan. Although Toomes is advanced in age, he is a strong fighter and a remorseless killer. On one occasion, he restored his youth through biochemical means, though this wore off after exposure to the corpse of an elemental superhuman. At one point he had used a device to steal Spider-Man's youth, leaving Vulture young and Spider-Man elderly, but this effect wore off within hours. -Wikipedia.org

9. Mysterio

Quentin Beck does not possess superhuman abilities but he is an expert designer of special effects devices and stage illusions, a master hypnotist and magician, and an amateur chemist and roboticist. He had extensive knowledge of hand-to-hand combat techniques learned as a stuntman, allowing him to engage in combat with Spider-Man despite his foe's superior physical abilities. Daniel Berkhart, a former friend and protégé of Beck's, had some of the same training and skills as Beck. Francis Klum has the mutant ability to teleport both himself and other objects, and the ability to control other people's body parts, as well as an understanding of the technologies in the Mysterio suit. Mysterio's suit has personal weaponry which include a helmet with a holographic projector and gloves and boots armed with nozzles which emit hallucinogenic gas. Some versions have included technology designed to enhance Mysterio's strength. He developed a gas that can cancel Spider-Man's spider-sense, and when he is cloaked in his mist gases, he uses sonar to detect objects and beings nearby. Klum's Mysterio suit is nearly identical to Beck's, while Berkhart's uses a darker color scheme. -Wikipedia.org

8. Kraven the Hunter

Sergei Kravinoff is a maniacal big game hunter known as Kraven the Hunter who seeks to defeat Spider-Man to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. Unlike other hunters, he typically disdains the use of guns or bow and arrows, preferring to take down large dangerous animals with his bare hands. He also uses a mystical serum to give him similar strength to Spider-Man, but even without the serum he is a threat to the wall-crawler. Spider-Man proves a frustrating quarry because Kraven continually underestimates the superhero's resourcefulness. -Wikipedia.org

7. Electro

An unusually configured magnetic field was created when struck by lightning while Dillon was holding live, high-tension wires and a wound reel of one-inch cable, granting superhuman powers to him. Electro can generate massive quantities of electricity, theoretically up to approximately one million volts. He can employ this electrostatic energy as lightning arcs from his fingertips, and his maximum charge is more than enough to kill a normal human.

When his body is charged to high levels, he becomes superhumanly strong and fast. He can also glide over power lines by using the electricity contained therein for propulsion, and he has on occasion been shown to actually ride on lightning bolts. During a stint in prison, Doctor Octopus gave him the ideas of ionizing metals and sparking the petroleum in the fuel tank of a vehicle as a way to generate explosions. He can charge himself up to make himself more powerful. He can also absorb the energy of electrical equipment such as a power plant to increase his powers further. -Wikipedia.org

6. Sandman

Sandman has the ability to transform his body. He can will his body hardened, compacted, dispersed or shaped, or a combination of those qualities, an Earth manipulation of sand and rock particles. More often than not in combat, this ability enables him to absorb most blows with little to no ill effect other than reforming himself, a relatively fast action. His striped shirt and cargo pants are colored sand to make him appear as if he wears clothes. Even when soaked, he was able to stretch his sand molecules, growing to double his size.

Sandman can mold his arms and hands into shapes such as a mace or a sledgehammer to battle Spider-Man and his other enemies. His mass, strength and shape shifting ability correspond to the number of sand and rock particles that comprise him. The more he incorporates (nearby) sand grains and rock granules into his body, the more those qualities are enhanced. Even though he controls every particle in his body, his mind exists in the astral plane. He can turn himself into a sandstorm, which enables him to fly great distances and to suffocate his enemies. -Wikipedia.org

5. Lizard

Doctor Curtis Connors gave himself superhuman powers as a result of exposure to mutagenic chemicals, allowing him to transform into the Lizard. In human form, he has none of his superhuman powers, but he is highly intelligent and studied in the fields of genetics, biochemistry, and herpetology. When Connors is transformed into the Lizard, his strength is increased to superhuman levels. Likewise, his speed, stamina, agility, and reflexes are also raised to a level equivalent to that of Spider-Man. He can also scale walls using a combination of his sharp claws and micro-scales on his hands and feet that create molecular friction like those of a gecko lizard.

He is highly resistant to injury due to his thick scaly hide, allowing him to resist punctures and lacerations from ordinary weapons and lower-caliber firearms. In addition, the Lizard has highly enhanced healing abilities which allow him to quickly recover from grievous wounds, including regenerating lost limbs. He also has a powerful tail which he can whip at high speeds. The Lizard has razor-sharp teeth set in muscular jaws that can deal a lethal bite. Like a reptile, he has cold-blooded characteristics and is therefore sensitive to drops in temperature; a sufficiently cold environment will cause his metabolism to slow drastically and become dormant if he is exposed to cold temperatures for too long. -Wikipedia.org

4. Doctor Octopus

Doctor Octopus (Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius) is a fictional character, a supervillain that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics since 1963. A highly intelligent mad scientist, Doctor Octopus is one of the archenemies of Spider-Man. He is typically portrayed as a stocky, myopic man who utilizes four powerful, mechanical appendages, and is obsessed with proving his own genius and destroying Spider-Man. In his first several appearances, Dr. Octopus' last name was spelled "Octavious."

All stories since have spelled it Octavius. Spider-Man has also nicknamed Octopus as Doc Ock. Creator Stan Lee has said that Doctor Octopus is one of his favorite Spider-Man villains. The character has appeared in numerous Spider-Man cartoons and video games and is portrayed by Alfred Molina in the 2004 film Spider-Man 2. In 2009, Doctor Octopus was ranked as IGN's 28th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time. Comics journalist and historian Mike Conroy writes of the character: "Created by Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, Doc Ock, as he became known, has become one of the web slinger's most persistent and dangerous foes." -Wikipedia.org

3. Green Goblin

The Green Goblin is a fictional character, a supervillain who appears in stories published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #14 (July 1964). Although many characters have taken up this identity, the most well-known is the original Green Goblin, Norman Osborn. Norman Osborn was originally an industrialist that took a serum which enhanced his physical abilities and intellect but also drove him to insanity.

He adopted a Halloween-themed appearance, dressing in a goblin costume, riding on a bat-shaped "Goblin Glider", and using an arsenal of high-tech weapons, notably grenade-like "Pumpkin Bombs", to terrorize New York City. He is one of Spider-Man's most persistent foes, and many consider him to be one of the archenemies of Spider-Man, being directly responsible for numerous tragedies in Spider-Man's life, such as the death of Gwen Stacy and the Clone Saga. He is also the lead protagonist of the company-wide "Dark Reign" storyline. -Wikipedia.org

2. Carnage

The alien symbiote endows Cletus Kasady with enhanced physical strength greater than that of Spider-Man and Venom combined and shapeshifting abilities, allows him to project a web-like substance from any part of his body including the formation of weapons, and enables him to plant thoughts into a person's head using a symbiote tendril. Much like Spider-Man, Kasady has the ability to cling to virtually any surface, and has a version of Spider-Man's spider-sense, as the symbiote can relay information to him from any angle and grants Kasady the ability to "see" in any direction, warning him of incoming threats. He can rapidly crawl, walk, or run across even slick surfaces.

He is able to rapidly regenerate damaged body tissues much faster and more extensively than an ordinary human. It isn't known, however, if he can fully regenerate severed limbs or missing internal organs. Kasady is also immune to the effects of all Earthly diseases and infections as long as he remains bonded with the symbiote. Like Venom, the symbiote is vulnerable to sound, and is undetectable to Spider-Man's spider-sense. Unlike Venom, Carnage can launch parts of his symbiote at enemies in the form of weapons such as spears, knives, axes, etc., although they disintegrate into dust within ten seconds of leaving Carnage's body. Though not originally seen, the Carnage symbiote has become vampiric, feeding on and thus endangering his victims by mere touch. -Wikipedia.org

1. Venom

Venom, or the Venom Symbiote, is a Symbiote, an extraterrestrial life form in the Marvel Comics universe. The creature is a sentient alien with a gooey, almost liquid-like form. It requires a host, usually human, to bond around for its survival. In return the Venom creature gives its host enhanced powers. In effect, when the Venom Symbiote bonds with a human to form a supervillain, that new dual-life form itself is also often called Venom.

Its second host Eddie Brock, after bonding with the Symbiote to become the first Venom, is one of Spider-Man's archenemies. Spider-Man was the first host it merged with before its evil motives were clear. After Spider-Man rejected it, the Symbiote went on to merge with other hosts and so began its reign as the villain known as Venom. Comics journalist and historian Mike Conroy writes of the character: "What started out as a replacement costume for Spider-Man turned into one of the Marvel web-slinger's greatest nightmares." -Wikipedia.org

Fishing reel guide

There are diverse sizes and shapes of fishing reels that can decide on the right kind that you need is a very hopeless job. If you happen to be familiar with the different kinds of fishing reels, then your task of finding what you need will get more painless and simpler. Five groups mainly make up fishing reels: the open faced fishing reels, closed face spinning reels, fly fishing reels, bait-casting reels, and electric fishing reels. In this piece of writing, the open faced spinning reels, bait-casting reels, and closed face spinning reels will be dealt with. In picking the kind of reel, there is a requirement to think over about two ideas. The first thing that you need to mull over is the level of your ability. The second thing that you ought to mull over is the type of fishing where you are going to use the reel. If you happen to be a beginning fisherman, then you ought to take into consideration getting a closed face reel because it can make your job easier and save some of your money.

The simplest type of reel that you can operate is the closed face reel which calls for a beginner kind of dexterity. Its spool contains the line, the covered mechanical parts, and a button on top or at the back of the reel that can be pressed at the start of the cast and at the ending. Because the line has a lid, then there are small chances of acquiring a counterattack. This kind of reel is just right for children who are just novices on fishing. The closed face reel is similar to a Snoopy Rod wherein the reel and rod are jointed in a single reel. For containing an easy process, the spinning reel can be utilized similar to the open faced reels. Once you became at composed with the closed face reel, you can eventually begin using the open faced reel. It contains a line that is curled onto a spool which has a bigger size and there is a different release. It also has a bail, a wire-like instrument that is situated at the front of the reel at just about on a eleven o'clock spot. Open face reels are made specially for lighter lines in the two to twelve pound test span and so a lot of anglers operate this kind of reel when they go for Finesse fishing. The final reel that is going to be conferred is the hardest kind of reel to learn how to use. This type of reel is known as the Bait Caster or the Level Wind reel for a few older anglers. You must have the right insight on how to cope with this type of reel. There is also a requirement to know about the a variety of masses that have an influence on the capability of the reel. Moreover, the mechanical components of the reel can be adjusted to suit the weight and wind conditions|The purpose of having different mechanical parts in the reel is to amend to the different weight and wind conditions that it can encounter. Once you have learned concerning how these types of reels are used, you can gain easiness in operating them. However, there are still occurrences that you must face horrible backlashes even though you try hard not to.

From the Dream of Democracy to the Reality of Dictatorship

Till now, it used to be the theme of Bollywood movies where a leader is shown in high statures to rule the land according to his wish and punish those who even try to go against it. And now, it seems to have moved from the reel life to the real life and is visible in the fun loving, always moving city of India, the great Mumbai. If we say that the movement is from the real life to the reel life then also the statement can't be proved wrong because most of the activities happen underground and become visible to the general public only when the outburst occurs.

I should be ashamed of myself for blaming the outsiders for creating troubles in my motherland. Yes, I mean when I say that because some leaders of India have even changed the meaning of an outsider. Tell me, who is an outsider? India is a single nation comprised of twenty eight states which combine their diversities and make India the richest culture of the world. But, here the scene seems to be completely different. A person of one state becomes an outsider in the other state. Oh Indians, where have you buried the feeling of unity in diversity? Can't you see our mother weeping and deeply hurt by such divisions? How can I blame anyone else for dividing my nation if dividers are the citizens themselves? They should be ashamed who follow such tactics to raise their political stature and divide the people in order to rule over them. If a person is a leader in true sense, his aim should be to fight for the rights of the whole nation and not only a particular state.

And the biggest question arises when people of such interests are supported by others and even order to torture others to prove their spotless stature. With proud, I call my motherland the biggest democracy of the world but now a day the light of democracy seems to be taking the shape of dictatorship. Who is to be blamed? Yes, I knew that everyone's fingers would point towards the leaders. Why is this blame game, my friends? If a democracy is by the people, of the people and for the people then why such situations even arise. Where we were when such leaders were selected who try to cut into pieces their own motherland and try to raise the feeling of hatred between the people of the same nation. Today, you are fighting on the roads, burning vehicles and killing others for a person who won't even come for your cremation if you die. If you yourself are the supporters then who else can be blamed for your miserable condition.

Ministers in parliament purchase votes and millions of rupees fly in the air whereas people still beg for a single penny on the roads to fill their bellies. We all hear about these issues but before coming to the conclusion a bomb blast occurs and the media diverts our attention towards that and again before reaching to any judgments about the terrorists , our mind is forced to be engrossed with the breaking news of the warning given by a leader to a star for expressing her emotions. So, where is our role? Yes, good question. And I do understand this as I am also a sufferer of the same net. But if we think wisely, our role is actually spread everywhere but the above example is given to make us understand how we should be capable to give right importance to the right subject and stick to it until the right conclusion is drawn out. The solution is to stand up and raise our voice and if not capable to stand then at least support those who fight for the right cause. Make others aware of the realities and use your most important instrument VOTE to throw out such dictators and help in making your nation a true democracy for which Bapu and Bhagat Singh sacrificed their lives and Chacha Nehru dreamed of day and night.

Daiwa Saltwater Fishing Reels

There are so many different brands and models of saltwater fishing reels that it is difficult to choose the best one for you. To help you decide, it is important to determine your needs when you go fishing. Do you need to cast your line at a longer distance? Do you need to haul a humongous fish from the bottom of the sea? These are some of the questions that you need to ask yourself before you buy a saltwater fishing reel.

Another consideration that you need to keep in mind when buying fishing reels is the brand. The brand is important because it tells a lot about the product. A well-known and reputable brand is more likely to manufacture high quality gear than an unknown brand. It might be a little more expensive but the price will be worth it when you get a reel that meets your expectations. If you want to buy a high quality reel from a well-known fishing equipment company, you should check out the products manufactured by Daiwa.

Daiwa saltwater fishing reels are resistant to corrosion. Since the equipment is constantly exposed to saltwater, you have to be able to trust that it will not corrode at all. The reels manufactured by this company are tightly sealed and made of corrosion resistant materials to ensure that the parts are protected and will last for a long time.

The cast control feature of these reels makes them highly manageable. You can also make some tension adjustments on the line using by just clicking a disc located on the side of the reel.

When you cast or haul the line, you will feel only feel smoothness, which is a feature and benefit that this company is proud of.

We guarantee much better fishing results. Check out this new revolutionary invention and get ahead of your fishing friends. Buy the Award Winning 'Esca Lures' online at http://www.escalure.co.uk/

Topwater Lure Tactics For Red Drum.

Red drum, commonly called redfish, are considered by many anglers the most exciting of all inland saltwater fish to catch with topwater lures. When redfish explode on a surface bait water, flies in all directions. Even smaller redfish will put up a fight that can last several minutes.

As obvious as it might sound, fishing with topwater starts with the cast. Many anglers cast the topwater plug to close to the redfish. This puts the red drum school on high alert and they will likely move off. Long casts beyond the fish are a requirement if you want to be successful. This is one of the reasons why redfishermen use the largest plug available. Redfish have large mouths, so they can handle just about any topwater lure you can toss. A trick is to change the rear hook to a larger size. This gives the back end of the topwater plug a lower profile.

Figure out the direction the redfish are moving before you throwing the topwater plug. You need to cast well ahead of the school. Let them work their way to the lure. Try to time the retrieve so that it crosses the red drum's path either just in front or just behind the school. A retrieve in the middle will likely scatter the redfish.

One of the most popular styles of topwater plugs are stick baits. The large lures that have a rattle in them will catch the most fish. The typical retrieve for stick baits is called "walking the dog". This is done by holding your rod tip straight up and shaking it as you slowly reel the line in. This causes the stick bait to move side to side. The nose of the plug should briefly appear out of the water at the end of each shake. Try to time your rod movement with the baits rhythm.

Chuggers are another good topwater plug to try. These have a small cup on the front of the plug that catches water on each pull. After the cast hold the rod at a 45* angle to the water. Reel in the slack and give the plug a sharp snap with the rod tip. Do this all the way back to you. Redfish will attack these on the pause. Unfortunately this is when the line has some slack. To catch redfish with these you must pay very close attention to the plug. I have watched many redfish follow this plug all the way back in before hitting it.

Minnow style topwater baits work well in calm conditions. These are a less aggressive style of bait. A steady retrieve with short pauses does not work as well as a quick retrieve with occasional sharp pulls of the rod tip. The trick is to keep the bait moving without going to deep. When the minnow makes a slight wake the speed is perfect.

A slight chop to the water makes for ideal conditions. Any imperfection in your technique will be magnified in glass like water. With a small chop cast into the wind as much as possible. The casts might not be as far but the topwater plug will have better action. Adjust the speed so that the plug has maximum action. If a redfish strikes at your plug continue on with the retrieve without pausing or changing speed. This is important. Redfish will miss topwater plugs a lot. What is awesome about these fish is even the misses are exciting do to the violence .

The Best Baits For Fishing Trout.

The best baits for trout fishing will depend upon factors like the type of trout that you are fishing for, the type of water body (river, creek or lake), the temperature and clarity of the water, the cloud cover and any storm systems, either coming in or leaving the area. With the basic knowledge of what trout like to eat and what makes them irritated to the point of aggravation, the trout fisherman can catch trout during any type of weather. However, the time of day may have more of an effect on catching trout than the weather and even water clarity will.

When the waters are dirty, either as a normal effect from sediment, or from a storm, the best baits for trout are scented worms, crayfish, mice and grubs. In very clear waters, you have to make your offering to the fish a lot more natural looking, as most trout will spot a fake if given enough time. The more pure a trout is, like the Arctic char or the sea trout, the more intelligent it is, and live baits will work much better, with no leaders, spoons, blades or swivels to give off the authenticity of your offerings.

Fishing for trout with mice? A mouse fly, from about the size of a chicken egg to the size of a large tomato, is a wonderful trout lure, one that makes the trout aggressively strike the lure on the top of the water. This is when the fisherman needs a companion with a good digital camera and a big fishing net, in order to get the pictures of the trout flying through the air, and landing the brute. The mouse dry fly is a top-water lure, so reeling the lure in with a hopping formation, quick followed by slow retrievals, will drive any nearby territorial trout into a biting frenzy.

Split-minnow lures and red devils are two of the most long-standing best artificial lures for trout fishing, under all weather and water conditions, but especially for deep water lake trout fishing. However, worms are the standard for trout fishing in rivers and streams, unless you are fly fishing or trolling behind a boat or other watercraft. No real trout fishermen, unless a die-hard fly fisherman, won’t have a couple of dozen worms as backup in case the trout are not falling for false bait’s and lures, like the split minnow, in either deep diver or floater model. When trolling, reflective plates should be used about 6 to 8 feet above the lure, as the blade’s reflection of the sun’s rays will act as an attractant to any nearby trout, and they act as weights, keeping the bait lower in the water.

The best artificial lures for trout fishing include scented rubber minnows, grubs and crayfish, as well as the split-minnow lures, especially in chartreuse or red and white colors. Also popular for fishing lures to catch trout are the Rapala brand of deep diving lures, the warbler spoons and spinner baits. Spinner baits and Bob-Its, a sort of 2-hook worm harness akin to the pickerel harness, are trout lures that require live bait to be attached to them. Both minnows (trout only, of course!) and worms (red, midnight crawlers, etc.) can be used with spinner baits.

When trout fishing after the spawning periods, the trout fishermen usually fish with trout egg sacks. Real eggs can be used, squeezed out of the first large female caught. Either wrap a few dozen eggs into a piece of cheesecloth, or simply wrap the fishing line around the egg sack so that the hook ends up within the egg sack. These trout baits should be weighted so that the flow about a half of an inch off of the bottom of the water source, floating against the current.

When trout fishing, and the water is dirty from a recent storm, using top-water crank baits (like the mouse) and colorful and scented lures work best. When the trout can not see the lure, make sure that they can either sense sounds (rattle lures) or smells (scented lures and baits) to attract them to the lures.

Fish on, and may your next trout be a trophy.

Tips on selecting the best fly fishing vest

If you want to take up fly fishing there are a few accessories and pieces of equipment you will need, one item you should look at purchasing is a good quality fly fishing vest.

The fly fishing vest plays an important part in your ability to enjoy fly fishing, there are numerous types and styles of vest for you to choose from on the market today. By doing some research online and checking out the types of vests available helps you to make an informed decision on which one would be best for you, here you can find a few tips to help you make this decision.

TIP one-------- Before making your decision on which vest to buy think of where you are going to be fishing and what the weather conditions are like, in hot conditions you should look for a vest that is breathable these are called mesh vests. If the weather is going to be very cold where you fish, you should make sure that the vest you buy is big enough for you to get extra layers of clothing underneath it to help keep you warm.

TIP two ------- You should check to see how many pockets the fly fishing vest has on it, this is important to help you store your extra equipment when fly fishing. Buying a vest with different sized pockets is also a good idea, fly lines, fly boxes, fly reels, all come in different shapes and sizes and you need some where to keep them safe when fishing.

TIP three ------- Fly fishing vests with zip style pockets can be a problem sometimes as the zip can seize up and make it difficult to open with one hand, so look for a good quality vest that has the Velcro style fastener this makes much easier to open with one hand when fly fishing.

TIP four ------- Try to get a vest that is as lightweight as possible, once you start to add your equipment it will start to get heavier and make it less comfortable when fishing for long periods of time. Also try to make sure your fly fishing vest has a ring fastener on the back for your fly fishing net, this is important to keep the net out of the way when casting and makes it easy for you to gain access the net when you are landing your fish.

TIP five ------- If you are going to be wading when fly fishing you should consider the length of the fly fishing vest, you do not want the vest trailing in the water and allowing the water in to the pockets, this can lead to your fishing equipment getting wet and spoiling it. So if you are wading when fly fishing then try to get a vest that is as short as possible, it can make all the difference to your fly fishing enjoyment.

I hope these five tips have helped you to make an informed decision on choosing the right fly fishing vest for your fishing experience, having the right fly fishing equipment when fishing makes it a much more enjoyable experience for this great outdoor sport.

If you are looking for information or where to purchase a fly fishing vest then visit http://flyfishingnets.org here you can find information and great deals on all the fly fishing equipment you need to enjoy that great sport of fly fishing.

Fly Fishing and The Right Equipment!

When fly fishing you need a calm temperament, be able to switch off and keep repeating the same technique without getting frustrated. This is half the battle, the other half is the right equipment. Of coarse you need sun glasses so you do not have to squint from the sun and maybe a hat but most importantly the tackle makes all the difference.

When choosing a rod, should you go for a modern composite graphite rod or an old fashioned bamboo rod? Should you choose a rod for one particular water or setting or go with a multi purpose rod. All these factors will come into the equation when choosing a rod to cast your flies. Talking of flies, this is another area where choice is important. Do you go for a dry fly or go for an insect replica. The colour of the fly could also be important, is there a colour for morning and a different one for night.
Another thing to think about is weather you want to learn how to tie your own flies or are you better off buying them already done.

The choice of rod and fly could also affect the decision as to what line you will use.
The type of line you use may be also be influenced by what fish you are fishing for, larger fish will need a heavier line as appose to smaller fish. You will have to decide on weather you want your line to float or sink, weather your fish feed on the surface or on the bottom.

Some anglers are quite happy to use a bomber or swim feeder, just cast their line out and relax on the riverbank and wait. Fly fishing on the other hand is much more a hands on approach; you need to be fully concentrated on the task ahead of you. Tackle decisions can make the difference between having a fantastic day and having a ordinary day.

Most fly fishermen take it very seriously; it takes patience, dedication and practice to become a good fly fisherman. Choosing the right rod can be very tricky, with lots of different people having different ideas. Below are a few choices to help you.

Fibreglass- A large number of rods these days are made from fibreglass, whether they are for fly fishing or regular fishing. The main downside of fibreglass rods is that they are heavier than graphite or bamboo rods which in turn could make your arm tired at the end of the day. Despite this they are able to take a lot of punishment which makes them a popular choice.

Bamboo- Many of the older fishermen will not here a bad word said about these rods. Of coarse this is just someones opinion, but they were one of the first rods to be made and are still being made today. There is a lot that goes into making a bamboo rod and for this reason they can tend to be one of the most expensive.

Graphite- These tend to be quite stiff but that does not mean they are not effective.
These rods give good flexibility and are quite strong. they give good performance and they can vary in price difference and quality.

Reels are another important piece of equipment, the abel fly reel is considered one of the best around. A lot of parts are interchangeable from one reel to another making this a good choice. Also it does not matter if you are left or right handed as they can be converted easily from one to another.

Fly Fishing: All The Rods You Need

The modern period has been dominated by the development of new materials, and there is no doubt that without plastics, fly fishing as we know it would be unrecognizable as a sport, although the basic principles would be the same.

Glass-fiber rods first appeared in the late 1940's, but it took a while for the new material to be adopted. Suppliers showed varying degrees of enthusiasm for the material. Hardy's first glass fiber rod was built in 1954, and after a period in which glass and cane uneasily coexisted, their first carbon fiber rod followed in 1976. Rod weights plunged, reaching the point where line weight became a consideration in rod handling. A modern fifteen foot carbon fiber rod typically weighs around the pound mark, and a nine-foot rod three and a half ounces.

If anyone wonders why fiberglass did not replace split cane overnight, the answer lies in the table. Glass rods weighed much the same as their split cane equivalents, and offered the fisherman few advantages other than price. Carbon fiber, on the other hand, approaches half the weight of either split cane or glass. Once the technical problems of using the new material had been solved, carbon fiber rods entered mass production and neither of the older materials could offer any contest. Cane was swept away by the mid nineteen eighties, although it is making something of a comeback on aesthetic grounds.

The Fly Line. As with rod development, the post-war period was dominated by the development of new materials. The taper on these lines could be controlled to a precise amount, and the invention of methods of altering the specific gravity of the PVC coating (and hence its buoyancy) gave the product greater flexibility than anyone had ever dreamed of in a fly line.

The Reel. We are very nearly up to date on the subject of gear, but is one small piece of the jigsaw puzzle missing. At the beginning of the modern period, it was unusual to find fly reels with exposed rims. The last twenty years have seen a surge of nostalgia, and it is fascinating to see the designs appearing that imitate reels of a century ago.

The Salmon Fly. In a sign of growing American dominance in the field, hair-winged patterns didn't take long to make the transfer across the Atlantic. The hair-wing had become a significant influence on British patterns by the 1960s, with many traditional patterns being adapted to allow hair-wing ties. The origins of the tube fly are less certain. We know that North American native people tied lures for salmon on quills as long ago as the nineteenth century, but the idea seems to have entered mainstream salmon fly fishing during the 1940s.

There is an interesting post-script to the development of the hair-wing salmon fly. Fishermen took a long while to give up their affection for the fully-dressed 'gaudy' fly, and it was commonly stocked by quite ordinary tackle shops well into the late 70's and even early 80's. As it became harder to find fully-dressed flies, collectors moved in, and a substantial market in "specimen-tying" began to emerge.

Fly Fishing Equipment - The Basics For the Beginner

"What fly fishing equipment should I get?" I'm often asked that question by folk who are interested in learning how to fly fish. Sometimes, it seems so complicated. "Is it expensive?" is the second most often asked question.

Let's start with the second question first. While you can spend thousands of dollars on gear, you don't need to nor should you spend more than a couple of hundred dollars if you're just starting out. Depending on what conditions you will be fishing, you might even get away with less than that, too. I recommend that you speak with casting instructor who knows your area and what conditions you'll be fishing in at first. That person will be able to put you on the right track as to the specifics of what gear you should have.

To answer the question about what fly fishing equipment you'll need to get started, here are the basics. You can of course purchase much more, but why not wait before spending lots of money to find out if you'll enjoy the sport in the first place?

A fly rod A reel that will hold the line Line (usually a floating line will do fine if you're targeting small to medium size rivers) 8 lb. test monofilament that you will use for leader material Flies Clippers Sunglasses

Optional equipment when you are starting out:

Waders to keep you dry if fishing rivers A vest or bag to carry gear (and perhaps your lunch and a flask filled with something to drink if you are so inclined) Landing Net

And that's about it. The conditions you will fish will dictate the length of your rod as well as the weight of the line you will be casting. Most beginners can get away with selecting a rod in the 8 to 9 foot range and 5-6 line weight (wt.). Unless you will be after big fish, you can get by with a very inexpensive fly reel. All it does in most cases is hold the line for you. In many situations where the target fish are trout, you likely wont even need to use the drag on your reel. In most cases, tension is applied to the line with your hand.

Although many fly anglers have all sorts of systems for determining the correct leader thickness and taper, don't worry about that for now. Because the lure in fly fishing are very light weight, you are using the weight of the fly line and the ability of the rod to power the line forward when you cast your fly. Therefore, fly line is much thicker than the monofilament used in spinning or baitcast fishing. That's where the monofilament or leader comes in - it is tied to the end of the fly line, generally an 8 foot length is fine, and to the other end of the leader, you will tie your fly.

Although it is fun to tie your own flies, at this point it is probably best to obtain some from someone you know that ties up flies, or purchase them for a shop that sells them. If it is a local shop, they will be able to advise you as to what patterns that will be most likely to entice the fish to hit. At first, stick with nymphs or wet flies. Dry fly fishing can be a lot of fun, but I'd recommend learning to cast and catch fish with a fly rod using nymphs.

Sunglasses are a must when fly fishing! The last thing you want to do is damage your eye with a misplaced cast and a fly stuck in your eyeball. Think safety first, no matter what you are doing. If you have decided to also purchase a pair of waders, make sure you are familiar with the water you will be wading in.

There are a number of resources available to you to help you decide what fly fishing gear is best for you. Read reviews of the gear that is available to you, talk to other fly anglers, and perhaps the best advice of all: Hire a fly fishing instructor for at least a half day. This will help prevent you from forming bad habits that will be difficult to break later on.
